The lining on this sash is unique. Its cloth like others but has a noticeable weave in it. This type of backing may exist on other sashes, but I have not identified it on others.

One easy way to quickly identify A & B sashes from C, besides the lining is to look at the position of the arrowheads to the edges of the sash. On Type C sashes the arrowhead is very close to the edges of the sash.

The embroidered arrows in the triangle of 5B are unique. Well-formed and noticeably different. It would be foolish to believe that I have identified all of the different sewn arrow varieties. These were probably done by hand and my sampling of sashes was limited. When many hundreds of sashes were made in this style it seems likely that other styles of embroidered arrows may exist.
